Writing this while I wait for my eldest daughter to finish her trampolining lessons, in a cafe, in the week when the UK went back to level A of the pandemic - no masks etc. I’m reminded that a) human to human interaction is still as important as ever and people seem a lot more communal compared to last week and b) bots won’t replace every job out there - I’m yet to think of a trampolining instructor who can be replaced by a bot. However, in a year when we hear that companies are struggling to hire the right amount of people, it’s probably about time that they start thinking about automating some of the low-value high-volume conversations that happen with conversational AI and give knowledge workers more time to be more productive. I think 2022 will be massive for the conversational AI industry.
